The checklist

A printable checklist for families preparing for the Naglieri General Ability Tests. Use your school notice for the exact date, test and instructions.

On the printed page, each item has a tick box.

  • Confirm the school details. Check the test name, grade, test date and contact person. Ask the school about accommodations and language/access needs before test day.
  • Keep testing and referral separate. Ask whether a separate advanced-academic referral is needed. Write down its deadline; a testing appointment is not itself a referral.
  • Choose a short familiarization activity. Try one picture pattern or classification question together. Explain the task, then let your child make a choice.
  • Talk about the reasoning. Ask what changed or what belongs together. Use the explanation to discuss an idea, not to promise a score or placement.
  • Prepare the ordinary things. Follow the school instructions, aim for a normal bedtime and breakfast, and keep the morning routine familiar.
